Aceites Sandúa Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary with the Inauguration of New Facilities

Aceites Sandúa brought together more than two hundred people at the celebration event held to mark the inauguration of its new facilities in the Tudela Agrifood City (CAT).
In addition, the Navarre company celebrated its 50th anniversary and the presentation of the 2025–26 new harvest oils.

The event began with a greeting and speech by Laura Sandúa Escribano, the company’s general manager, who offered words of recognition to the founders of the company, her parents Lorenzo Sandúa and Merche Escribano, and to all those who have accompanied and made this journey possible: employees, suppliers, customers, collaborators, etc. She also underscored the company’s strong commitment to its territory and its deeply rooted family values.

During her speech, Laura Sandúa presented the award for the “Best Label of Capricho Navarro by Sandúa Eco.” This limited-edition label commemorating the 50th anniversary was created in collaboration with the School of Art and Design of Corella, and the award went to student Rita Aragón Chivite.

The final highlight of the presentation, as is customary at this time of year, was the annual unveiling of the new harvest oils. Sandúa’s general manager and member of the Navarra Government’s Tasting Panel, Laura Sandúa, guided guests through a sensory journey in a directed tasting where they were able to experience the different olfactory notes, aromas and flavors characteristic of freshly harvested extra virgin olive oil.

New facilities and a new stage of growth

Aceites Sandúa, a benchmark in the production, processing and distribution of premium olive and vegetable oils, celebrated its 50th anniversary by inaugurating new facilities in the Tudela Agrifood City (CAT).

With a €10 million investment in its first phase, this project marks a strategic milestone in the company’s consolidation and expansion, which has experienced sustained growth in both domestic and international markets, reaching a turnover of €60 million in the last fiscal year.

Construction of the new headquarters began in July 2024, and just one year later, the company relocated its industrial operations to Tudela, meeting all planned deadlines.

In this first phase, Aceites Sandúa features an 8,000 m² plant on an 18,000 m² plot. The company also owns an adjoining plot reserved for future expansions to support the projected short-term growth.

The new facilities bring together industrial, packaging and commercial operations, while agricultural activity remains in Ablitas, at the “Capricho Navarro” estate, dedicated to olive cultivation in the natural surroundings of the Laguna de Lor.

“The exponential growth recorded in recent years, with a turnover of €60 million, has driven us to take this step. These new facilities enable us to respond more swiftly and with greater quality to our customers’ demands, both in Spain and in the more than forty countries where we already operate,” explains Laura Sandúa, the company’s general manager.

To continue growing and strengthening its presence in domestic and international markets, Aceites Sandúa has invested in strategic collaboration and the creation of new synergies. Five years ago, the Navarre company promoted the creation of Oleosandúa, a joint venture owned 50% by the Andalusian agri-food group Migasa.

Through Oleosandúa, all Aceites Sandúa oil brands are marketed, enabling the company to expand its commercial and operational capacity while maintaining its essence as a family-owned Navarre company committed to quality, sustainability and responsible development.

Thanks to this partnership, Oleosandúa has consolidated its position in the olive oil sector, combining experience, tradition and know-how with a structure that provides the necessary means to compete in increasingly demanding markets, without relinquishing the values that have defined it since its beginnings.

Innovation and sustainability

Aceites Sandúa’s new facilities incorporate advanced technology for oil packaging and storage, including a tank room with a capacity of more than 3,000,000 liters. The packaging process has been digitalized to guarantee full real-time traceability.

The Navarre company is also strengthening its commitment to sustainability. The new plant has been designed according to criteria of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, including solar self-consumption systems, responsible waste management and the use of recyclable materials.

As a new service, Sandúa has introduced an exclusive professional oil tank (IBC) retrieval and cleaning service for its clients in the agri-food and hospitality sectors, thus offering a comprehensive and circular solution.

The company currently has a direct workforce of 30 people and a similar number of indirect positions. New managerial roles are also being incorporated, further professionalizing all operations.

Commitment to the territory

The relocation of the logistics headquarters does not affect the agricultural activity the company maintains in Ablitas, where the “Capricho Navarro” estate is located, with more than 60 hectares of olive groves. There, the arróniz (native to Navarra), arbequina and empeltre varieties are cultivated under EU Organic certification, supervised by CPAEN, the Navarra Organic Farming Council.

Aceites Sandúa is part of the Protected Designation of Origin “Aceite de Navarra,” reaffirming its commitment to excellence, sustainability and strong ties to the territory.

“We are a family-owned company deeply connected to our land, but with a clear forward-looking vision. This new step allows us to continue growing without losing our essence,” adds Laura Sandúa.

Half a century of history

Founded in 1975 by Lorenzo Sandúa and Merche Escribano, Aceites Sandúa is celebrating 50 years of a consolidated track record in the olive oil sector. Today, the second generation leads the company: Laura Sandúa as general manager, and José Luis Sandúa as purchasing director.

Over these five decades, the company has achieved a presence in more than 40 countries and has become a benchmark for quality oils, offering a wide range that includes extra virgin olive oil, olive oil, pomace oil, sunflower oil, seed oils and special frying oils free from palm oil and allergens such as soy, coconut or peanut.

All its operations are endorsed by internationally recognized certifications such as IFS and BRC, as well as Kosher certification, ensuring compliance with the most demanding quality and food safety standards.
