OILS SANDUA RENEWS QUALITY STANDARDS IFS and BRC

Sandúa oils renewed in June quality standards IFS and BRC has applied in its modus operandi since 2014.

Spanish company dedicated to packaging and marketing of oils for over 40 years, decided to implement this quality system because it has an outstanding international recognition that helps them to better expand its overseas market, although the requirements that they agrees to comply are "high demand," says Laura Sandúa manager Sandúa oils.

So much so that in 2014, the firm had to make new investments and retooling, to adapt to the IFS and BRC standards.

The renewal of these quality standards means for Oils Sandúa «the physical environment to ensure our customers maintain the overall quality throughout the process that the company has been making year after year, in the development of its activity,» explains the manager of the company.

The BRC (British Retail Consortium) is a standard published by the British supermarket chains and requires documented approval to ensure food safety and quality. These distributors are Asda, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, for example.

The IFS Food Standard is a standard food safety and quality that publishes the German union of supermarket chains, HDE (Hendelsverband Deutschland). It has also been adopted by its French equivalent, the FCD (Fédération des entreprises du Commerce et de la Distribution) and its Italian equivalent (Federdistribuzione). Among the distributors are Aldi, Lidl, Carrefour, Auchan and Metro.

Both standards are aimed primarily providers of major food distributors.
